The People Behind the Plays
Since 2006, Panther Sports Talk has told the story of the University of Northern Iowa athletic department. This weekly TV program includes interviews with coaches, players and administrators and fans, and tells the stories of individuals who are giving their all for the UNI Panthers. It follows the story of UNI’s teams each year and includes the personal stories of athletes and Panthers each year to allow viewers an opportunity to get to know them as more than just athletes.
The reason behind Panther Sports Talk continues to be spreading the positive stories coming from UNI Athletics. Our stories share the good work that UNI athletes are doing in their community and within their team. Stories of determination, resiliency, and overcoming the smallest odds are a regular theme with UNI athletes. From being a positive influence on their team to having a nation-wide influence, UNI’s student athletes are providing excellent examples for the next wave of athletes and team players.
BRAD WELLS
For more than 10 seasons, Brad has hosted PST and covered Panther athletes in competition at a national level. A proud UNI alum, Brad has accompanied his Alma Mater to events such as the NCAA Wrestling Championships and the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament, while also taking on special assignments such as covering NFL games when fellow alum Kurt Warner was with the Arizona Cardinals. Brad announces UNI football, basketball, softball, and volleyball games for the Panther Sports Network and The Valley on ESPN. He also announces for other Missouri Valley Conference events, including basketball games and the league's coverage of indoor and outdoor track and field championship events.
As co-founder of Panther Sports Talk and its parent company, Around The Corner Productions, Eric has hosted PST since its inception. Also a UNI alum, Eric is proud to share the many positive stories that come from the UNI Athletic Department every year. Interviewing coaches and athletes has taken Eric to multiple Missouri Valley Conference and NCAA championship events, along with countless practices and training events on the UNI campus. In addition to hosting Panther Sports Talk, Eric announces UNI basketball and volleyball games for the Panther Sports Network and The Valley on ESPN.
